Location is an inventory management attribute of Proteus Vision ERP, which largely signifies the storage location or bin where the inventory is stored in the warehouse. The same lot can be kept in multiple locations. In such case Vision ERP maintains multiple entries in stock records to store the information.
Location also has a loose coupling with the status of inventory. Though this is not a hard and fast rule, but for physical control over inventory it is recommended as a good business practice to store different inventory status inventory in different location. For example Quarantine items should be stored in separate area than approved. Vision ERP handles the inventory movement from Quarantine and Approved or Rejected during Quality Control approval automatically.
When materials are in Quarantine or Rejected, Vision ERP also places an inventory lock to ensure that such items are not used in production or sold to customers.
