How to distribute material from one site to another site?

You can efficiently distribute materials from one site to another using the Distribution Order (DO) functionality available in the Logistics module of our ERP system. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Menu: SCM > Logistics > Distribution Order

Step 1: Create a Distribution Order

Begin by creating a Distribution Order (DO) from the source site. This DO serves as the central document for tracking the movement of materials.

Step 2: Issue Materials from the Source Site

Using the Distribution Issue feature, you can initiate the material transfer from the source or “order” site. Once materials are issued, they are deducted from the available location inventory of the issuing site and are moved to a “Goods in Transit” location.

Step 3: Receipt at the Destination Site

After the materials have been issued and are in transit, you can create a receipt against the Distribution Order at the destination site. This receipt operation is crucial, as it finalizes the transfer process.

During the Distribution Receipt, the materials are received at the destination site. They are moved from the “Goods in Transit” location to the available location of the receipt site. At this point, the materials are considered officially received and available for use.

This streamlined process through Distribution Orders ensures that materials are efficiently distributed from one site to another within your organization, providing better control and visibility over inventory movements.
