About
Vision provides a provision to Hold inventory on a specific storage location for example a manufacturing location, warehouse ,sales point or any other location where inventory is stored. Users can also execute an all location hold of a specific inventory.
Holds can be specified for an Item code , Lot Number , Pallet / carton number across the enterprise.
Creating an Inventory Hold
Navigate to
Menu Path
Navigate to : SCM > Warehouse Management > Hold Release Inventory (+) Hold Inventory
Transaction
Create a new “Hold” transaction by clicking on the Add New button
- Provide the Site for which you would like to “hold” the inventory – If the Site value is left blank “Hold” will be applied to all Sites
- The Department is defaulted by the User login
- Role Code is defaulted by the user login
- Lock code is the code that is applied for holding the inventory , these are preconfigured values in Vision. “Hold” Lock code is selected in the example provided
- Specify the Remarks for reference
- Click on Next on the Right hand top corner to continue
- Then click add on the next screen on the top
Provide the following information
Provide the following information
- The Item code that has to be kept on Hold
- The Site where the inventory is to be kept on Hold ( how is different from the header Site )
- The location code for the Inventory
- Specific Lot number to be kept on hold
- The LPN or the carton number
- Select the reason code from the availabe list
- The date at which the lock is scheduled to be released (Is this automatic ?)
- Any specific remarks for this Item/ Lot
Use the (+) to continue to add further items or different lots for the same item
To complete the transaction click on the “done” on the top right hand
Processing
The Hold Request will be now available to the designated approver to approve it , after the approval , the inventory will be designated as “hold”
